Mr. Fatman Hue Watch Cap Camel
As per usual, the best available version of a classically American thing—in this case, the old-school watch caps you've seen on WWII naval officers, Boston dock workers, and every third person in every Rocky movie—comes from Japan.
This is a short watch cap, which is woven by rib knitting based on the unused waste of 100% virgin cotton generated in the spinning process at spinning mills in Japan.
The US military watch cap in this style has been favoured for decades by US Navy sailors and personnel. Known from many pictures from the wartime period this hat became iconic. The name "watch cap" goes back to the sailor's duty of keeping watch, on which they wore this hat.
A woven name tag is sewn on the left forehead. It fits your head as you keep wearing it.
Mr Fatman is one of the private labels of what is probably the best hat studio in Tokyo, "The Fat Hatter". The brand is inspired by 1950s Golden Age of hat culture and gathers direct influences from workwear, military, garage, classic motorcycles and sport cars to create the best headwear we have ever seen.
