When it's not yet cold enough for your winter coat, but a touch too brisk to step out in just a tee, we call that "Sweater Weather." As for picking the right kind of sweater that's perfect for the transitional weather, this chunky shawl collar indigo cardigan keeps you warm without sacrificing style.
This beauty is cut from a premium cotton 12oz indigo loopwheel fabric and it is guaranteed to last a lifetime with a flattering fit, a soft feel and exceptional warmth. It feels like "a warm hug". It is super soft on the inside, resistant on the outside and has been woven a bit tighter than traditional loopwheel fabrics to make it a bit more windproof. Thanks to its indigo rope dyed thread, this piece is guaranteed to age like no other cardigan in the market.
This Strike Gold Loopwheeled ("Tsuri-Ami") cardigan is woven in the Japanese Kanekichi Wakayama workshop, one of only two workshops in the world still keeping in operation after more than 100 years the tubular textile production machines that allow seamless garments to be made. The only tension used in the knitting process is gravity, the end result being a knitted fabric with virtually no inbuilt stress or tension.
A loopwheel machine rotates at just 24 revolutions per minute, with only 8-10 garments worth of fabric produced per day. A modern knitting machine in excess of 10 times that. The result is a heavyweight, soft but strong fabric, and the best sweatshirt material made today.
The Strike Gold is undoubtedly one of the benchmark brands when we speak of Japanese denim. Established in Kojima, in Okayama Prefecture, the Hamamoto family has been focusing all its efforts for more than 10 years on producing denim, sweatshirts, shirts and belts of the very highest quality one can find today. Their denim fabrics, unique in the world for their texture, composition, incredible irregularity, stiffness, roughness and character, delight denim devotees around the planet.
