The Companion Cone Denim jeans are made with the last remnants of art.1968 13.5oz selvedge fabric woven in the Cone Mills White Oak plant in Greensboro (North Carolina). The legendary White Oak plant has been for many years the only mill making Selvedge denim in the USA. Its recent closure in 2017 has been a significant loss for denim heads from around the world. Fortunately, Companion stocked up on some of the last few metres of Selvedge fabric before it closed.
The jeans have been sewn and finished by no more than two pairs of hands in the Companion workshop located in the heart of Sabadell, a town in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. They are using a mix of both vintage and modern sewing machines which we have collected through the years. They only work with the machinery that offers the highest quality and most reliable stitchings for jeans making.
Companion is a small denim-focused brand created in 2013 by Iu Franquesa in Sabadell (Barcelona), a town with a long-established textile tradition. The Companion workshop was established as a symbol of craftsmanship and dedication, and here Iu makes each piece with flawless attention to detail. Companion denim is built on the values of quality, durability, honesty and respect for the environment.
