Where the original was built to be made quickly, the JLB Military Desert Boot is built to last: the upper, lining, \u003cstrong\u003eleather insole\u003c\/strong\u003e and midsole are \u003cstrong\u003estitched together\u003c\/strong\u003e in a \u003cstrong\u003estitch-down, double-stitched construction\u003c\/strong\u003e, rather than the usual method of leaving the insole out of the build and gluing one in at the end. A \u003cstrong\u003eleather midsole with a Japanese-made steel shank\u003c\/strong\u003e — absent from the traditional pattern — adds stability and allows upper, midsole and outsole to be sewn as one.
