Oni Denim is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, Oishi-San has created a unique and limited fabric with two coloured weft variations, Moca and Olive-ish Grey, making it the culmination of 20 years of Oni Denim and the perfect tribute to Okayama. This is the olive-grey version in the brand's iconic type III jacket.
This fabric is based on the iconic 20oz Secret denim, but the indigo warp threads structure has an additional secret twist. Further, the indigo is darker, and Oishi has used a thicker slub olive/grey coloured #5 weft thread. The result is an excellent rough textured fabric with all the slub and hair of the secret denim, maintaining the same level of comfort and breathability but featuring a striking olive-ish grey weft that will show through as the jacket is washed and worn.
The jacket is made with all the superior-quality ONI details such as copper buttons, high-quality pocket cotton lining and a custom veg-tanned deerskin leather patch. The leather patch has been specially designed for the 20th Anniversary. In addition, to commemorate the release of this special edition, we will be include a 20th Anniversary olive-ish grey bandana in your package.
The cut is a modern Type III fit with side-seam pockets.
The legend of ONI is alive to this day. In recent years Oishi-San has devoted himself to experimenting with widely varying grammages, rough textures, different indigo dyeing techniques and novelty cuts while always maintaining a very limited production and wielding his experience in denim which now goes back more than 60 years.
