Many people associate workwear with high-quality construction and clothing that meshes very well stylistically. The new Oni Coverall Dobby Twill Indigo Jacket certainly follows it to perfection.
This jacket is cut from a premium Dobby Twill double indigo Japanese fabric. Mr Oishi has experimented with a revolutionary eco-friendly anti-felting treatment called Biowash. This procedure removes the fuzz and pilling from the fabric surface and gives a softer and smoother handle. In addition, to capture the beautiful fading properties of this fabric, Mr Oishi opted for this treatment to achieve a natural vintage wash that is unique to each individual coverall.
Oishi-San is well known for interpreting American workwear staples through his Japanese dystopic lens. More of a character actor than a leading man, this lightweight coverall will be the most reliable autumn jacket in your arsenal. It's designed for work—with plenty of pockets and durable construction—and is understated enough to add some depth to everything from a hoodie to a tee. It has one inner and one outer breast pockets and two lower front patch pockets.
The jacket is exceptionally soft and comfortable. Like all the ONI coveralls, it features plenty of pockets and top-notch construction.
The legend of ONI is alive to this day. In recent years Oishi-San has devoted himself to experimenting with widely varying grammages, rough textures, different indigo dyeing techniques and novelty cuts while always maintaining a very limited production and wielding his experience in denim which now goes back more than 60 years.
