The Secret Super Rough is a heavyweight Japanese selvedge denim masterpiece, weighing in at a substantial 20oz. What sets it apart is the extraordinary slubbiness of the yarn used in its construction, resulting in a fabric with a unique neppy surface. The irregular thickness of the yarn gives rise to a rugged and bumpy textured surface, adorned with distinctive white cotton balls, or "neps."
What makes this denim truly exceptional is its heritage. Following a tragic incident where the original secret denim yarn-spinning mill was destroyed in a fire, ONI embarked on a mission to reproduce its remarkable texture. With the Secret Super Rough, they have achieved a breakthrough.
By combining the yarn and weave structure of the Asphalt Denim with the warp and weft dye of the Secret Denim, this 20oz denim is a rebirth of the very first secret denim. Through a meticulous selection of cotton blend and weaving methods, the fabric's surface boasts an abundance of neps and irregularities that surpass even the original Secret Denim.

Vibrant colors and the most extreme texture we've ever witnessed collide in this ONI masterpiece. As always with ONI, we can only find superior quality details such as donut-shaped copper buttons, durable cotton pocket bags, and a custom patch made from vegetable-tanned cowhide leather.
The relax straight cut offers a comfortable and laid-back silhouette with straight legs, perfect for a relaxed and casual vibe.
The legend of ONI is alive to this day. In recent years Oishi-San has devoted himself to experimenting with widely varying grammages, rough textures, different indigo dyeing techniques and novelty cuts while always maintaining a very limited production and wielding his experience in denim which now goes back more than 60 years.
