Recently we've noticed that waistbands are slowly rising across the men's fashion world, and now the freshest jeans in the streets and on the runways are high-waisted rather than low. Long high rise jeans can be easily styled with everything and make your legs look longer.
These jeans have been cut from a new natural indigo version of the iconic Oni XX denim, which is well known for its unique texture. This will be the best chance if you are looking for mid to heavyweight denim with a lot of character and a crazy slubby and neppy texture. This 17oz natural indigo denim produces snowy sprinkles of light-coloured highlights that arise gradually over its surface. Oishi-San mixes different kinds of cotton to make this fabric and uses the iconic ONI low tension weaving technique to create a rugged and highly uneven touch. It gets its name from old Levi's jeans. For the first 17 years between 1873 to 1890, Levi's waist overalls (as jeans were called then) were known simply as XX.
The jeans are made with all the superior-quality ONI details such as copper buttons, high-quality pocket bags, heavy-duty bar tacks and a custom veg-tanned deerskin leather patch with XX stamp.
The cut is the ONI's 921 high rise relax tapered fit. The taper is aggressive so that it gives a slim-fitting silhouette while allowing for a lot of space at the thighs with a high rise.
The legend of ONI is alive to this day. In recent years Oishi-San has devoted himself to experimenting with widely varying grammages, rough textures, different indigo dyeing techniques and novelty cuts while always maintaining a very limited production and wielding his experience in denim which now goes back more than 60 years.
