One of the most awaited AW21 pieces has finally arrived, just in time for the cold season.
This beauty from Samurai is woven from the same 6x6 indigo yarns they use to create their iconic 15oz denim. However, thanks to the rope dyeing, the indigo threads will gradually fade, developing an electric blue that will perfectly contrast with the purple threads.
The texture of the fabric is really unique, rough and slubby to the touch, with a lot of character and a heavyweight. It stands at 12oz.
Like any other Samurai garment, the construction is impeccable. It features indigo-dyed buttons, chain-stitched side seams with run-off, a double-needle construction throughout, and reinforced double fabric forearms. In addition, both the asymmetrical pockets and the collar feature a cotton lining.
Samurai jeans have become a legend in the Japanese denim scene. Created in Osaka by Toru Nogami in 1997, Samurai represents the perfection of Japanese tradition, with its iconography of Sengoku-era Samurais and the search for the best and nothing but the best through materials, artisan garment-making techniques and unique detailing.
