STUDIO D´ARTISAN

Studio D´Artisan Kasezome Sashiko Double Indigo Lunch Jacket

€425,62

The hank dyeing threads with the highest indigo density are used for both warp and weft and the 14oz original selvedge Sashiko is woven with a power loom.

The jacket has been dyed with the "Kasezome" method (Hank Dyeing). It is a very unique and time-consuming hand dyeing process in which the colour penetration is maximized and the yarns retain their original texture. First, the skein of yarn is wrapped and washed in water, opening the fibers to receive the dye. It is then dipped into a indigo vat for up to forty-eight hours, washed, and redipped. This procedure is repeated several times. Once the desired color is achieved, the yarn is steamed to fix the dye to the fibers. Because it does not use as many chemicals as other forms of dyeing, Kasezome is less damaging to the material. The final indigo colour is also usually richer than those achieved by other dyeing methods.

To realize the thick cloth with unevenness inherent in Sashiko, it is woven with raising the number of stitches to the limit. In Japanese, Sashiko means “little stabs", a reference to the plain running stitch that makes up sashiko’s geometric, all-over patterns.

For the interior of the jacket, lining fabric is a thick hard sheep bore and the lining of the sleeves has excellent heat retention effect with padding quilt lining.

Among its details, we can find an amazing a customized Studio D´Artisan tanned deerskin leather patch and original Studio D´Artisan black dull-treated tuck buttons.
