The Trophy x Brat Style jeans is an exclusive collab between Trophy Clothing and the legendary motorcycle custom shop based in Tokyo: Brat Style.
Brat Style custom designs are inspired by vintage flat track racer, old chopper. The owner, Go Takamine, developed a distinct design language with their builds, and as their customs were imitated across the world, the proper name "Brat Style" became generic.
The "Brat Style" brand grew over the 2000s and propelled Go to the top of the custom world. He eventually achieved such a high level of respect and notoriety within the moto community at large that he was commissioned by major manufacturers like Yamaha and BMW to promote their new models with custom builds.
The jeans are made of an unsanforized 13,5oz fabric natural indigo rope dyed with several indigo dips, getting a beautiful deep indigo tone. They are made by a 75-year-old craftworker mandated of producing the denim fabric, he carries out meticulous work in Okayama city, Japan, using an old Toyoda G3 shuttle loom. The Toyoda automatic loom "G3" was first introduced half a century ago. As the earliest power loom in Japan, the maintenance can be challenging simply because there are no more new replacement parts available; when maintenance is needed, they can only replace the parts by gleaning the parts that are still functioning from the same models which are no longer in use. Besides, it has very low productivity as it weaves only 5 meters of fabrics per hour. However, G3 is the only machine that still weaves the same workwear-like denim that had a unique rough surface, yarn evenness and ruggedness as what it did half a century ago.
The jeans are made using low-tension techniques applied in the shuttle loom resulting in a sturdy yet lightweight 13,5oz fabric natural indigo dyed with amazing deep indigo colour. All jeans have been stitched with a polyester and cotton blend yarn of variable width for maximum durability. Expect fast, and high contrast fades.
The cut is a modern slim fit. It has a well-balanced top block and leg and fits well to most body types.
With durability as the prime objective and under the slogan of "Satisfaction Guaranteed", the garments produced by Trophy Clothing are made from resilient materials and each one of their elements, from the fabrics to the very last button, are made in Japan according to Japanese artisan textile tradition. Trophy Clothing follows no fashions; it only aims for timeless pieces that will last the highest possible number of years.
