The UES type II jacket is made of Zimbabwe cotton, harvested by hands. It is the best way to produce high-quality fabrics without using machines to hurt cotton. Also, they don't use any defoliant. By using a little bit of precious brown cotton fibres, UES get more beautiful colour fabrics.

The fabric is woven on old wooden shuttle looms with plenty of chatter. It has a touch of beautiful slubby texture with a fantastic hand feel. Its irregular appearance belies the surprisingly smooth comfort for the wearer. They use rope dyeing to make the colour darker. By mixing some brown cotton inside while making the yarns, UES get darker colours.

The jacket is made with all the iconic superior quality UES details such as copper hardware and goat leather patch. The side panel (with a 5cm fabric on both sides) is a detail that can also be seen in vintage jackets.

UES products are not finished when new, but rather only begin to be complete once the customers start to wear them. UES job is to select ageing, beautiful, high-quality materials, and transform those through sewing into a durable form that customers can continue to wear, as long as possible. That also involves making products that can last a "spaces for change" as much as possible, with unique fading colours and increasing depth for each customer clothing engraved by many days of damage from wrinkles, fading and dirt. Rather than giving in to trends, UES continues to offer a way to keep your memories with denim.

This jacket is a reproduction of the iconic Vintage Levi's 507 XX (2nd Type). From the fabric to sewing to silhouette, it is made with care down to the last detail.

UES is a small Japanese label founded by Chuji Matsumoto in 1994. UES comes from the English word "Waste", which means that Matsumoto-San wants you to make full use of each garment for as long as possible before discarding it. It is a small judgement of the concept of disposable wear that is so commonplace today in the world of fashion and from which Matsumoto-San disassociates himself completely.
