The UES Double Honeycomb Thermal is a layer worth pulling on as a standalone piece during the coldest days of Spring and the beginning of Autumn or as a hard-working layer beneath your clothes that can mean the difference between a hellish winter and a bearable one (without bulking up your silhouette). This is the thickest base layer we have ever seen, so, combined with the correct layers, this Double Honeycomb Thermal is suitable for the toughest cold on earth.
The fabric is exceptionally thick and comfortable. Thicker even than the UES Waffle thermal. It is a 16.5oz 100% cotton double honeycomb knitted on vintage machines using ultra thick and strong yarns.
The cut is slim, but it will stretch and form to your body shape, obtaining a skin-tight fit that is perfect for improving heat retention and maintaining your body temperature. This heat retention capacity is similar to that of the best technical shirts, with the plus of having a 100% natural material such as cotton. It has been washed once to avoid shrinkage and features; 4- needle flat seam construction. This UES hardily-constructed cotton thermal is as traditional as can be.
UES is a small Japanese label founded by Chuji Matsumoto in 1994. UES comes from the English word "Waste", which means that Matsumoto-San wants you to make full use of each garment for as long as possible before discarding it. It is a small judgement of the concept of disposable wear that is so commonplace today in the world of fashion and from which Matsumoto-San disassociates himself completely.
