Drawing inspiration from drifting altocumulus skies and the legendary sword Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, Samurai brings together myth, nature, and fabric into a single bold expression of Japanese denim.
Crafted in Japan from an exclusive 17oz unsanforized slub selvedge denim, the "Murakumo" features intensely irregular yarns in both warp and weft. The vivid indigo rope-dye allows the white weft to peek through, creating a textured, almost cloud-like surface that subtly shifts with wear. Over time, the jeans will fade dramatically, producing a soft contrast and visual depth reminiscent of a summer sky. Every element is made with care and intent—from the iron-made “Rising Sun” buttons and copper rivets to the silver lamé selvedge ID and Samurai’s own goatskin leather patch. Inside, you’ll find their original jacquard “Makoto” battle standard pocket bags, adding a final touch of storytelling to this already exceptional piece.

Fit Notes: This Murakumo model runs very small in the one-wash version. In general, we recommend choosing two size larger than your usual. However, as always, we suggest checking the size chart first to find your perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one-washed, so there will be no further shrinkage.
