Sugar Cane

Sugar Cane is a Japanese clothing brand that originated in 1965, catering to individuals associated with U.S. military bases in Japan. Initially, the brand supplied American soldiers and managed military surplus distribution in Japan during the Vietnam War. After the war's conclusion in 1975, Sugar Cane transitioned into a domestic apparel maker, adopting its brand name at the suggestion of an Army base officer.

Despite being Japanese in origin, Sugar Cane's ethos and designs are deeply rooted in authentic American style, influenced by its history with the U.S. military. The brand specializes in crafting genuine workwear using denim, a quintessential American material. Since 1975, Sugar Cane has maintained a fusion of traditional dyeing methods and styling with innovative textile development, particularly focusing on high-quality Japanese selvedge denim. This approach places Sugar Cane's jeans at the upper echelon of the Japanese selvedge denim market.
