Founded in 2025 in Kojima, Okayama—the heartland of Japanese denim—Omoto Denim is the latest project by Hiroki Kishimoto, renowned fabric developer and founder of Japan Blue. Drawing on over two decades of experience, Kishimoto created Omoto to embody the idea of denim that transcends trends and evolves beautifully with time, much like the evergreen Omoto plant from which the brand takes its name.

Working with Japan’s finest artisans in spinning, dyeing, and weaving, Omoto crafts original 13–15oz selvedge denimusing pure indigo, traditional rope-dyeing, and vintage shuttle looms. The result is denim that’s rich in texture, durable, and full of life, designed to age gracefully and tell a story unique to each wearer. Deeply rooted in craftsmanship, Omoto Denim continues Kishimoto’s legacy of pushing Japanese denim forward—quietly, masterfully, and meaningfully.
