The "Tasogare" Jacket by Studio D'artisan is a masterpiece crafted in homage to the tranquil transition between sunset and darkness. The name itself, derived from Japanese, encapsulates the fleeting beauty of twilight, where the sun's departure heralds the gradual emergence of nightfall. Just as the sky undergoes a metamorphosis of colors, casting a mesmerizing spell over the surrounding landscape, the Tasogare jacket embodies this ethereal allure.
In the twilight hours, nature orchestrates a symphony of muted tones and soft shadows, akin to a captivating painting unfolding before one's eyes. This sublime moment, steeped in serenity, captivates the soul and sparks introspection. It's a time revered in literature, poetry, and art for its poetic and sentimental essence, evoking a sense of profound connection with the universe.
Studio D'artisan pays homage to this mystical hour with an original fabric, dyed using natural pigments extracted from Japanese plants and trees. Each gradient on the Tasogare jacket is a testament to the ancient emotions and traditions of Japan, meticulously woven into the fabric by skilled artisans.
Drawing inspiration from vintage 1940s sports jackets, the design seamlessly blends nostalgia with contemporary craftsmanship. The sleeves and collar, adorned with indigo moleskin, further accentuate the jacket's timeless appeal.
Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this Tasogare jacket to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit and checking that the length meets your preference, as it follows a 1940s style cut.
Under the slogan of "Reconstruction of great old things", Studio D'Artisan is one of the iconic brands of Japanese denim. Founded by Shigeharu Tagaki and reproducing classics of French and American workwear since 1979, Studio D'Artisan takes pride in having been one of the Osaka 5.
