The Double Helix “Deviant” Double Rider’s Jacket is a modern reinterpretation of the classic motorcycle jacket, designed with a cleaner layout and greater versatility. While retaining the iconic asymmetrical zip closure, angled front, and classic collar, the Deviant streamlines traditional details for a more wearable, everyday silhouette beyond just riding.

Crafted from 1.3mm full aniline tea-core horsehide by Nitta Tannery in Himeji, Japan, the leather is left undyed at the core, allowing the underlying brown tones to gradually emerge as the jacket ages. Tanned using mimosa bark, the leather develops a distinctive warm, reddish-brown undertone, which becomes more visible over time.

The surface is dyed in a deep burgundy tone, using minimal pigment to maintain transparency and preserve the natural grain. As the jacket breaks in, it reveals a rich, evolving contrast between the burgundy top layer and the brown core, creating a unique and expressive patina.

The tanning process itself is extensive, involving long drying and aging stages of up to a year, and only a small percentage of hides meet Double Helix’s strict quality standards—ensuring exceptional durability, density, and character.

Inside, the jacket features a 100% cotton lining for comfort and breathability. It is finished with premium Waldes zippers and Scovill snap buttons, along with functional details such as zipped pockets, adjustable waist buckles, and a hidden internal chest pocket.
