All UES socks have the whole durability thing down pat. But the brand's linen-cotton socks are also famous for keeping your feet in prime condition no matter how beastly the weather conditions are.
These heavy socks use only premium quality linen threads giving unbeatable strength, sweat absorption and quick drying. UES makes these premium socks using a low-gauge knitting machine. This, combined with a good percentage of cotton, gives a unique flecked texture.
UES is a small Japanese label founded by Chuji Matsumoto in 1994. UES comes from the English word "Waste", which means that Matsumoto-San wants you to make full use of each garment for as long as possible before discarding it. It is a small judgement of the concept of disposable wear that is so commonplace today in the world of fashion and from which Matsumoto-San disassociates himself completely.
