A limited edition all-white Hasami-ware skull mug by Attractions — reproducing a rare 1950s design through a double-layered porcelain construction developed over three years at the renowned Kikusho Tohki kiln.
The third edition of the Attractions Skull Mug series from Hasami ware arrives in a fully limited-edition all-white colorway — a refined, sculptural piece that reinterprets a rare vintage form through the lens of traditional Japanese porcelain craftsmanship.
The design is based on a rare vintage skull mug originally produced in the 1950s for export to the United States — a piece almost impossible to find today. Reproducing this piece required a special double-layered porcelain structure, developed in collaboration with Kikusho Tohki, one of Hasami's most respected historic kilns. The result took over three years of trial and error to perfect — a testament to both the technical difficulty of the form and the level of care that defines Hasami porcelain production.
Because of the way the porcelain is layered and fired, each mug develops a unique surface pattern during production — meaning no two pieces are exactly alike. Each mug carries subtle variations in tone, texture, and character that reflect the hands of the craftsmen and the individual firing of the piece.
Ideal as both a functional mug and a display object for collections, this is a small but exceptional piece of Japanese porcelain heritage.
