Introducing the Loop & Weft Original Double-Face Hex Honeycomb Thermal Crew Neck, crafted in Japan with a unique blend of tradition and innovation. The fabric used in this thermal shirt is a 100% cotton original double-face thermal, meticulously reconstructed from vintage hex honeycomb thermal using a special knitting machine in Wakayama.
Unlike conventional honeycomb fabrics, where the lining matches the outer fabric in both color and texture, this fabric is intricately woven to create a distinctive double-face structure. The outer fabric features hexagonal honeycomb patterns, while the inner lining adopts a contrasting pin border weave, resulting in a comfortable flat structure against the skin. The interplay of lining color on the outer fabric produces a distinctive body color, imparting a soft, substantial warmth and a unique aged patina that only enhances over time as you wear it.
Drawing inspiration from 60s military thermal motifs, the design of this crew neck incorporates durable elements such as a 2-needle binder neck, vintage ribbed cuffs with arrowhead patterns, and meticulous 4-needle stitching. The slightly elongated back hem with a lock finish allows for easy tucking into bottoms and enhances versatility, making it an excellent choice as both an inner layer for colder seasons and a standalone piece.
The garment is expertly crafted with a 4-needle flat seam construction, eliminating unevenness in seam allowances, and the time-consuming process enhances the classic aura and comfort of an undershirt.
