The fabric is woven using a mix of natural and synthetic indigo-dyed yarns, interlaced with two different sashiko threads to form a richly textured stripe pattern. Thanks to the use of Kasuri (ikat-style) dyed yarns, the stripes appear slightly streaked and organic, creating soft transitions in tone that cannot be replicated with standard dyeing techniques.

Kasuri, a centuries-old Japanese resist-dye method dating back to the Ryukyu Kingdom, produces patterns by dyeing the yarns before weaving, allowing the design to emerge naturally in the loom. This labor-intensive technique gives the shirt its beautifully uneven, artisanal character, while the natural indigo ensures gradual fading and evolving contrast with wear.
