Hemp is an old sock fiber that fell out of use, and Anonymous Ism brings it back in quantity: 50% hemp, blended with 41% cotton and a small share of nylon, polyester and elastane for shape and durability. Hemp breathes and moves moisture better than cotton, it is naturally resistant to odor-causing bacteria, and — unlike most hard-wearing fibers — it gets softer with every wash rather than stiffer.

The sock is built in an extra-thick pile: a dense terry loop on the inside that cushions the foot in a boot and insulates in the cold, knitted in a traditional plain stitch that lets the slightly irregular, heathered character of the hemp-cotton yarn show on the face. The 11.5" (29 cm) crew length gives classic coverage above a boot or a rolled cuff. Made in Japan.
