The Buzz Rickson's BR02835 Type A-10 Gloves are a historically accurate reproduction of the standard winter flight gloves originally adopted in 1938 for U.S. Army Air Forces pilots. Designed to provide warmth, dexterity, and durability inside open and unpressurized cockpits, the A-10 became an essential piece of aviation gear — a perfect balance between military function and refined construction.

The outer shell is crafted from supple seal-brown horsehide, selected for its durability, wind resistance, and ability to mold naturally to the wearer's hand over time. Horsehide develops pronounced creasing and rich depth with wear, enhancing both comfort and character while maintaining enough structure for precise movement.

Inside, the gloves are fully lined with 100% wool knit, offering insulation without unnecessary bulk. The long, tube-knitted wool cuffs in classic red seal in warmth and prevent cold air intrusion, reinforced with triangular leather patches on the palm side to prevent stretching and maintain shape over years of wear.

Three pin-tuck seams across the back of the hand regulate leather tension and preserve the glove's anatomical fit. The finger construction, palm stitching, and backhand assembly require advanced sewing techniques and are executed with remarkable precision — reflecting the labor-intensive craftsmanship behind original military flight gear.
