The Buzz Rickson’s WWII Denim Blouse is a faithful reproduction of the wartime denim jacket, crafted in Japan from the same rugged 13.6oz selvedge denim used in their WWII jeans. Due to material rationing during the war, design modifications were implemented—the pocket flaps were removed, and the front button closure was reduced from five buttons to four, staying true to period-correct details.
Key features include iron laurel donut buttons, a vegetable-tanned deerskin leather label, and visible selvedge detailing on the inner facing. The pleated front enhances mobility, while the stitching on the left and right body panels follows an asymmetrical sewing pattern, reflecting the handmade quality of the era. The cuffs are cut on a vertical grain, subtly altering their texture compared to the rest of the jacket. Additionally, sizes 46 and 48 feature the iconic T-back construction, just like the original wartime model, adding another layer of authenticity.
A "For The Duration" flasher signifies the wartime modifications, and an "E Pennant" emblem pays homage to the U.S. government's recognition of excellence in war production.
