The Deluxeware DX4025 Second Model Denim Jacket represents Deluxeware’s refined interpretation of the classic Type II silhouette—straightforward, balanced, and purpose-built—reimagined through original materials and contemporary proportions. Rather than copying a specific vintage reference, this jacket fuses authentic historical detailing with Deluxeware’s own ideals of fit, function, and longevity.
Constructed from proprietary No.5 15oz Rogue Denim, the fabric is woven in Ibara, Okayama Prefecture on vintage shuttle looms using American No.6 cotton yarns. Both warp and weft are spun from thick yarns, with the warp intentionally irregular and the weft kept straight. This structure produces the signature “rogue” character—an aggressive, uneven texture paired with an exceptionally deep indigo tone that yields dramatic vertical fading over time.
The Second Model silhouette is defined by its straight, linear waistline, offering a clean and well-balanced form that feels structured without being rigid. While inspired by historical Type II jackets, Deluxeware has carefully resized and refined the proportions to suit modern wear, achieving a jacket that feels timeless rather than archival.
All sewing is carried out entirely in-house in Odate, Akita Prefecture, using vintage Union Special machines and traditional stitch methodology. Deluxeware employs 14 different types of sewing thread and a carefully controlled stitch pitch to encourage natural puckering and evolving seam character as the jacket ages. This meticulous approach ensures that the denim and construction mature together as a single, cohesive garment.
Fit Notes: This jacket is made from unsanforized fabric but has been one-washed in Japan to prevent shrinkage. We recommend going one size up from your usual size. For example, if you normally wear a US size M, you should choose a size 42 (L).
