The material is a Wabash-patterned denim heavy flannel, woven on vintage shuttle looms in Ibara, Okayama. Described as a fusion of denim and heavy flannel, this 100% cotton fabric is woven on a denim shuttle machine but finished with the napped, brushed texture of a heavyweight flannel. The result is a fabric that combines the aging characteristics of denim — developing fades, contrast, and patina over time — with the softness and heat retention of heavy flannel. It is a rare, special material that behaves unlike either fabric on its own.

The Wabash stripe pattern adds historical depth to the shirt. Originally produced by manufacturers like Stifel in the early 20th century, Wabash became one of the most iconic prints in American workwear — and one of the most sought-after among vintage collectors today. Deluxeware's interpretation renders the pattern in indigo, allowing the stripes to fade and evolve naturally with wear.

Construction is handled in Odate, Akita, using a 1960s Union Special triple-needle machine, ensuring robust seam strength and authentic vintage-style stitch definition throughout.
