Fit Notes: Deluxeware shirts tend to run small compared to American sizing. Because of their Japanese sizing, we usually recommend going up one size. In addition, Deluxeware always offers USM and USL sizes, which are larger than XL and feature a more regular, less tailored cut. Traditionally, hickory stripes are associated with denim fabrics, where the pattern is created through a denim weave structure. For the HV-01, Deluxeware reimagined this classic workwear stripe on a heavy brushed flannel base, developing an exclusive fabric in Mitsuke, Niigata Prefecture, an area renowned for its yarn-dyed textiles. The result is a fabric that visually echoes denim hickory stripes while delivering the soft, insulating comfort of heavyweight flannel.

Woven on vintage shuttle looms, the fabric combines durability with depth of texture. The raised nap gives the shirt warmth and body, while allowing the colors to age beautifully with wear. Over time, the fabric develops character and subtle fading, reinforcing Deluxeware’s philosophy of garments designed to improve through long-term use.

Construction is handled entirely in Japan at Deluxeware’s own facility in Odate, Akita Prefecture, using vintage Union Special sewing machines. The shirt features a distinctive shoulder pattern unique to Deluxeware, engineered for improved mobility and structure. Finishing details include carved corozo nut buttons, adding both durability and a natural, heritage-driven aesthetic.
