The FOB Factory F0541 888 Denim Baker Pants are a refined Japanese interpretation of the iconic U.S. military fatigue pants of the 1940s, a silhouette originally developed for durability, mobility, and everyday utility. Known today as “Baker Pants”, this design earned its reputation through decades of service wear, later becoming a staple of American workwear and casual style.
FOB Factory recreates this timeless military form using their exclusive 14oz “888” black denim, woven at low tension on a rare loom known as the “888 Three Eight”—one of only a handful still operating in the world today. This specialized loom allows the fabric to develop a soft, matte surface where the weft yarn remains subtly hidden, producing a uniquely subdued black tone with depth and texture rather than shine.
The denim is one-washed at the factory, delivering immediate comfort while preserving long-term aging potential. Over time, the black denim will develop nuanced wear patterns and soft contrast, giving the trousers a lived-in, personal character without aggressive fading.
The high-rise, relaxed straight-leg fit stays true to the original military design, offering room through the top block and a clean, unforced drape through the leg. This makes the F0541 exceptionally versatile—comfortable enough for daily wear, yet structured enough to pair effortlessly with denim jackets, moleskin outerwear, knitwear, or canvas footwear.
