This faithful reproduction of the iconic Type I jacket, which first appeared in the early 1900s, features a new, lighter, and super comfortable denim fabric specially created by Fullcount to achieve maximum comfort and versatility while maintaining the same famous fade potential of Fullcount's heavier fabrics. Aside from being ridiculously comfortable and weighing only 11.5oz, this fabric also nicely reproduces the unique look found in vintage items and functions incredibly well as an outer jacket during the warmer months or as a layering piece during the colder months. Like any good Type I reproduction, the jacket is cut trim, short, and boxy, which not only allows for a good range of motion but also visually lengthens your legs. Like all great garments, this jacket only improves with age. Fullcount, a pioneer in using Zimbabwean cotton, ensures comfort and durability with this long-staple cotton, achieving a perfect balance for everyday wear and authentic vintage fades.
This jacket features all the superior-quality Fullcount details, including metal buttons, copper rivets, a custom veg-tanned goatskin leather patch, and 100% cotton thread, ensuring a faithful vintage aesthetic.
Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this Type II to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
