The charm features the Yatsu-giku, a rare eight-petal chrysanthemum crest with squared petal tips, crafted using the traditional Japanese “Sukashi” openwork technique. In Japanese, Yatsu-giku literally means “eight-petal chrysanthemum.” The chrysanthemum has long been associated with longevity, renewal, and refinement, making it one of the most meaningful symbols in Japanese culture.

Measuring approximately 16 mm in diameter, the charm is crafted from solid sterling silver (925). The master mold was created by Kobashi Studio founder Junichi Kobashi, with a vintage-inspired handmade finish that intentionally preserves subtle file marks and natural distortions—details that emphasize the authenticity of handcrafted production.

Each piece is cast in sterling silver by a family-operated metal workshop in Tokyo, ensuring exceptional quality and traditional metalworking expertise. The openwork construction gives the piece a lighter, more delicate appearance while maintaining strong visual character.

The backside of the charm is engraved with “Kobashi” in Japanese characters, reinforcing the charm’s identity and connection to its origins.
