The Kobashi Studio “Yatsu-Giku” Charm is a refined piece of Japanese metal craftsmanship that highlights one of the most enduring motifs in Japanese design. Created to pair perfectly with the Kobashi Studio Classic Silver Chain Necklace 3.1mm or the Kobashi Studio Classic Silver Chain Necklace 2.3mm, it offers a distinctive and elegant addition to any necklace.
The charm features the Yatsu-giku, a rare eight-petal chrysanthemum crest with squared petal tips. In Japanese, Yatsu-giku literally means “eight-petal chrysanthemum.” The chrysanthemum has long symbolized longevity, renewal, and nobility in Japanese culture and remains one of the country’s most recognizable traditional motifs.
Measuring approximately 20 mm in diameter, the charm is crafted from solid sterling silver (925). The master mold was meticulously created by Kobashi Studio founder Junichi Kobashi, with a vintage-inspired finish that intentionally preserves subtle file marks and handmade distortions—details that highlight the authenticity of artisanal craftsmanship.
Each piece is cast in sterling silver by a family-operated metal workshop in Tokyo, ensuring exceptional quality and traditional production methods. The clean, symmetrical structure of the chrysanthemum crest creates a strong yet refined visual presence.
The backside of the charm is engraved with “Kobashi” in Japanese characters, reinforcing the charm’s identity and connection to its origins.
Every charm is presented in a luxurious Japanese pig suede pouch, completing a small but meaningful object that combines heritage symbolism with modern elegance.
