The Kobashi Studio "Yatsu-Giku Sukashi" Charm is a refined piece of Japanese metal craftsmanship that celebrates traditional symbolism through minimalist design. Designed to pair perfectly with the Kobashi Studio Classic Silver Chain Necklace 3.1mm or 2.3mm, it makes a distinctive addition to any necklace setup.
The charm features the Yatsu-giku — a rare eight-petal chrysanthemum crest with squared petal tips — rendered through the traditional Japanese "Sukashi" openwork technique. Yatsu-giku literally means "eight-petal chrysanthemum" in Japanese — and the chrysanthemum has long been associated with longevity, renewal, and refinement in Japanese culture.
Measuring approximately 20mm in diameter, the charm is crafted from solid sterling 925 silver. The master mold was meticulously created by Kobashi Studio founder Junichi Kobashi, with a vintage-inspired finish that intentionally preserves subtle file marks and natural distortions — details that highlight the beauty of handcrafted production.
Each charm is cast in sterling silver by a family-operated metal workshop in Tokyo, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and authenticity. The openwork construction gives the piece a light, elegant presence while maintaining strong visual depth.
The backside is engraved with "Kobashi" in Japanese characters, reinforcing its identity and connection to the brand's origins. Each piece is presented in a luxurious Japanese pig suede pouch.
