The process involves tanning rawhide with vegetable tannins derived from natural sources like mimosa, quebracho, and sumac. This natural tanning process yields leather that is both sturdy and pliable, boasting a distinctive texture and character.

A skilled craftsman in Chiba oversees every aspect of Kobashi wallet production, ensuring a hand-polished finish and consistent high quality. The wallet also features a solid brass snap fastener made by Chiba's oldest snap fastener company, established in 1909.
