The Momotaro MMGD1001 Belt is a refined narrow-cut belt built from extra-thick 4mm vegetable-tanned Benz cowhide, sourced from the renowned Tochigi Leather tannery in Japan — one of the country's most respected leather producers, tanning premium cowhide the traditional way since the mid-20th century.

The leather is cut from the dense butt section of the hide — the most compact, fibrous, and hardwearing part of the cow, prized for its enhanced durability, strength, and natural sheen. Combined with a traditional vegetable tannin process, the leather retains all its natural character: substantial in the hand, honest in its finish, and built to develop richer tone and depth with every year of wear.

This natural finish version leaves the leather undyed, allowing the raw tannin tone to speak for itself. Over time, the surface will gradually darken and patina with exposure to sunlight and daily wear — developing a warm honey-brown character that becomes increasingly personal to its owner. Few finishes reward long-term wear as clearly as natural vegetable-tanned leather.
