The Momotaro MMPT6007 Westpoint Trousers are built around an original West Point fabric developed in-house at Momotaro — a high-density chino cloth woven from a blend of American and Giza (Egyptian) cotton. The result is a fabric with the structure and durability of classic military chino, elevated by the exceptional softness and refined hand feel of extra-long staple cotton.
The cloth is woven at high speed on a vintage power loom, producing a dense, tightly constructed fabric with a subtle natural luster — a characteristic that gives West Point its unmistakable quiet elegance. A dedicated post-processing treatment further brings out the softness of the Giza fibers, resulting in a fabric that combines refined polish and substantial body.
The name itself pays homage to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York — referencing the high-quality fabric historically used in the construction of the uniforms worn by the academy's cadets.
The silhouette is a wide straight fit — clean and generous through the hip, thigh, and leg — for a relaxed, easy-wearing profile that pairs equally well with sneakers, boots, or dress shoes. Details reflect Momotaro's obsession with quality throughout: a Momotaro original silver zipper fly, herringbone pocket bags, and refined finishing across every seam. The fabric has been one-washed for a stabilized, softened hand.
