Nishiguchi Kutsushita have crafted these exceptional socks from premium virgin cotton fibers — extracted post-yarn production and spun through a specialized machine to fashion a distinctive, refined yarn unlike anything in standard sock construction.
What sets these socks apart is their ability to age gracefully with wear, much like a cherished pair of vintage denim jeans. The cotton softens, the color shifts, and the fabric develops its own quiet character over time — rewarding long-term use rather than wearing out.
Adding to their distinctive identity, the brand employs a unique dyeing method known as speck dyeing, in which dye capsules are delicately sprinkled onto the thread and steam-treated — producing spontaneous bursts of color specks scattered across the fabric. The result is an irregular, organic surface effect that gives each pair its own subtle individuality.
Founded in 1950 in Katsuragi, Nara Prefecture, just after World War II, Nishiguchi Kutsushita began with a single hand-operated knitting machine started by Katsuji Nishiguchi.
