The ONI Denim 121S “Ishikawadai Stretch” takes one of ONI’s most unique fabrics and elevates it with added comfort, without compromising its authentic character. Built on the same foundation as the classic Ishikawadai denim, this version introduces a subtle stretch component that enhances everyday wearability.

At its core is the legendary Ishikawadai spinning machine, a rare piece of equipment from 1953 that spins yarn at a significantly slower speed than modern machinery. This process preserves the integrity of the cotton fibers, resulting in a fabric with a naturally irregular, hand-spun texture and the subtle depth that defines ONI denim.

This stretch version maintains the same visual identity—slub, unevenness, and greencast indigo tones—but incorporates 2% polyurethane into the weave. The result is a denim that looks like traditional raw selvedge but offers a level of comfort rarely found in heavyweight fabrics. Movement feels effortless, making these jeans ideal for long days or more active wear.

Woven on vintage shuttle looms, the 15oz selvedge denim balances structure with flexibility, offering a unique combination of heritage texture and modern comfort. Over time, the fabric will still develop beautiful fades, preserving the essence of classic ONI denim.

The 121S fit is a relaxed tapered silhouette, offering more room in the top block with a gentle taper toward the hem. It delivers a clean, modern shape while maintaining comfort through the hips and thighs—perfect for those who want a slightly roomier fit without losing definition.

Fit Notes: This model fits true to size for ONI, meaning the tagged size closely matches the actual waist measurement. Compared to most global American brands, sizing is similar or slightly smaller, so you may take the same size or one size up. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart to find your perfect size. The denim is unsanforized but has been one-washed, so no further shrinkage is expected. With regular wear, the waistband will stretch approximately 1 inch, allowing the fit to settle comfortably over time. That said, we don’t recommend sizing down, as starting too tight may cause discomfort and alter the intended fit of the garment.
