The ONI Denim 146S “Ishikawadai Stretch” offers a perfect balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern comfort. Built on ONI’s renowned Ishikawadai fabric, this version introduces a subtle stretch component while maintaining the distinctive texture and character the brand is known for.

At the core of the fabric is the legendary Ishikawadai spinning machine, dating back to 1953. Operating at a much slower speed than modern machines, it preserves the integrity of the cotton fibers, resulting in yarns with a naturally irregular, hand-spun appearance and a refined, organic texture.

This stretch variation retains the same visual identity as the original—subtle slub, unevenness, and greencast indigo tones—but incorporates 2% polyurethane into the weave. The result is a denim that looks like traditional raw selvedge while offering a noticeably higher level of comfort and flexibility, making it ideal for everyday wear.

Woven on vintage shuttle looms, the 15oz selvedge denim combines structure with ease of movement, while still developing beautiful fades over time, preserving the authentic aging process expected from ONI denim.

The 146S fit is based on the classic ONI 246 silhouette, offering a neat straight cut with a slightly slimmer profile than a traditional regular fit. It features a mid-rise waist and a leg that tapers gently toward the hem, creating a clean, balanced shape that remains comfortable without feeling restrictive.

Fit Notes: This model fits true to size for ONI, meaning the tagged size closely matches the actual waist measurement. Compared to most global American brands, sizing is similar or slightly smaller, so you may take the same size or one size up. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart to find your perfect size. The denim is unsanforized but has been one-washed, so no further shrinkage is expected. With regular wear, the waistband will stretch approximately 1 inch, allowing the fit to settle comfortably over time. That said, we don’t recommend sizing down, as starting too tight may cause discomfort and alter the intended fit of the garment.
