The ONI Denim Weapon Chino is a departure from everything that has built ONI's reputation as a denim house — and a compelling one. The West Point cloth, known in Japan as "Weapon" (a contraction of West Point), was originally developed for the uniforms of the American military academy and remains one of the finest examples of high-density cotton twill available.

Unlike a conventional chino, which uses single yarns, the West Point fabric is constructed with plied yarns at both warp and weft. The result is a cloth with superior structure, a cleaner drape, and a sense of substance from the first touch. A cold mercerization treatment further strengthens the fibers, improves color retention, and contributes a subtle natural sheen — softened here into something more understated through Oishi-san's one-wash finish.

The silhouette is the 747 fit, with a moderately high rise, a comfortable top block through the hips and thighs, and a gradual taper toward a modern, well-balanced hem. The result is a trouser that reads equally at home with sneakers, boots, or dress shoes.

Details are kept deliberate and restrained throughout. The trousers feature a zip fly, military-inspired urea buttons, two front slash pockets, and two rear welt pockets. The woven ONI patch — chosen specifically over leather to eliminate dye transfer risk — quietly reinforces the considered approach behind every element.

The fabric has been one-washed, so minimal further shrinkage is expected.
