Same jeans, different first day. The L720 Biostone Wash takes ONI's women's wide straight and puts it through a biostone wash — enzymes and stones working together to lift the indigo evenly and break the fabric in — so it arrives the way a good pair looks after a couple of years of wear: a clear, light blue with soft whiskering at the hips and seat, and a hand that has already given up its stiffness. Nothing to wait for.

The denim underneath is the same 12oz selvedge, low tension woven on vintage shuttle looms from a mix of yarns in different thicknesses; after the wash, that irregular yarn shows as a fine, uneven grain across the pale surface, which is where the fabric keeps its character. And the pattern is the one ONI drew from a blank sheet for its Ladies line — not a scaled men's block, but a block built for a woman's body, with the waist and rise balanced and the back pockets placed for a clean, vintage line.

The cut is a wide straight with a high rise and a generous, straight leg from the thigh to the hem, easy to wear cuffed with sneakers. Construction is full ONI: custom copper doughnut buttons on a button fly, original punched rivets, a cowhide leather patch and the selvedge ID at the outseam, with the women's line's signature purple thread at the coin-pocket opening and the inner bar tacks of the back pockets. 100% cotton. Made in Japan.

ONI makes the L720 in two versions, zip fly and button fly, and we stock the button-fly L720-12B. It is the more traditional construction — the one on every vintage pair this pattern looks back to — and the one that ages best: a button fly keeps the front flat and clean, never fails the way a zip can, and its placket wears in along with the rest of the jeans.

Fit Notes: This model fits true to size — we recommend taking your usual size. ONI's women's sizes run 0–4; as a guide, a size 1 measures 27.2" at the waist and corresponds roughly to a 25–26 in American brands, a size 2 (28.0") to a 26–27, and so on. The cut is a wide straight with a high rise and a generous, straight leg from the thigh to an 8.3" opening. The denim has been biostone-washed, so it is fully shrunk and soft from the first wear. With regular wear, the waistband will stretch approximately 1 inch, allowing the fit to settle comfortably over time. We don't recommend sizing down, as starting too tight may cause discomfort and alter the intended fit of the garment.
