The L722 is where ONI's women's line goes widest. Like the rest of the third Ladies capsule, it starts from a pattern drawn from a blank sheet for a woman's body rather than a scaled-down men's block — waist and rise balanced against each other, back pockets placed for a clean, vintage line — and then opens the leg as far as the range allows: a super wide straight that runs almost the same width from the thigh to the hem, a counterpart to the men's 222.

The denim is a 12oz selvedge woven on vintage shuttle looms from a mix of yarns in different thicknesses, which gives the cloth a light crunch and a hand that is firm yet supple — the texture and substance of Japanese denim at a weight that drapes in a leg this wide, where a heavier fabric would stand away from the body. It comes one-washed, ready to wear, and the deep indigo will fade slowly across a surface with plenty of room to show it.

The cut sits at a high rise (11.4" at the front on a size 1) with a wide top block, and the leg drops straight and full from a 12.6" thigh to an 11" opening on the same size; a deep cuff shows the selvedge and keeps the proportion in check. Construction is full ONI: custom copper doughnut buttons on a button fly, original punched rivets, a cowhide leather patch and the selvedge ID at the outseam, plus the women's line's quiet signature — purple thread at the coin-pocket opening and the inner bar tacks of the back pockets. 100% cotton. Made in Japan.

ONI makes the L722 in two versions, zip fly and button fly, and we stock the button-fly L722-12B. It is the more traditional construction — the one on every vintage pair this pattern looks back to — and the one that ages best: a button fly keeps the front flat and clean, never fails the way a zip can, and its placket fades and softens along with the rest of the jeans.

Fit Notes: This model fits true to size — we recommend taking your usual size. ONI's women's sizes run 0–4; as a guide, a size 1 measures 27.6" at the waist and corresponds roughly to a 25–26 in American brands, a size 2 (28.3") to a 26–27, and so on. The cut is a super wide straight with a high rise and a leg that stays almost the same width from a 12.6" thigh to an 11" opening, so it is meant to be worn with room throughout. The denim has been one-washed, so no further shrinkage is expected. With regular wear, the waistband will stretch approximately 1 inch, allowing the fit to settle comfortably over time. We don't recommend sizing down, as starting too tight may cause discomfort and alter the intended fit of the garment.
