The Samurai Jeans A301-AI “Kurozan” Belt is a remarkable example of Japanese leather craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with distinctive materials rarely seen outside of Japan.

Crafted from vegetable-tanned Tochigi cowhide, one of the most respected leathers in Japan, this belt is dyed using Yamato natural indigo through multiple rounds of hand-dyeing. The result is a deep, rich blue tone with remarkable depth and character.

Known as “Kurozan” leather, this material has historical significance—traditionally used in samurai armor and still favored today in high-quality kendo equipment for its strength and resilience. The leather undergoes a specialized finishing process that enhances durability, scratch resistance, and color fastness, making it more resistant to fading and dye transfer than standard indigo-dyed leather.

At 4mm thick, the belt offers a substantial feel while remaining flexible and comfortable with wear. It is finished with solid brass hardware and a subtle Samurai Jeans stamp, reinforcing its heritage identity.
