New for 2026, the 310 is now the widest silhouette Samurai Jeans makes, and the brand gave it its heaviest everyday denim to match. The fabric is Samurai’s 19oz selvedge, and the construction is worth understanding. The warp is a No. 5 uneven slub yarn spun from coarse, hard raw cotton with a high-twist method that deliberately pushes the surface toward rough and grainy; slub in a yarn this thick is hard to make look natural, and here it comes through as organic irregularity rather than a forced effect. The weft is a thick No. 4 yarn, which leaves the inside of the fabric softer against the skin while the outer face stays coarse and heavy. Firm in hand, it is built for high-contrast fades, and it comes one-washed.

The cut is a super wide straight with a deep, high rise (32 cm / 12.6" at the front on a 32), a very roomy top block and a leg that runs wide and straight to a 26 cm (10.2") opening. For all that width, the proportions have been drawn to avoid exaggeration: it reads as a wide jean, not a costume.

Specifications are the house standard, with a few things made for the model: “hinomaru” sunrise iron buttons, Samurai’s original rivets, a selvedge-cut coin pocket, the brand’s red and silver lamé selvedge ID, pocket bags jacquard-woven with “shogyo mujo” (諸行無常), the impermanence of all things, an original goatskin leather patch and flasher, the brand’s original back-pocket stitch and a rayon label. Unsanforized, 100% cotton, made in Japan.

Fit Notes: This model fits true to size for Samurai: the tagged size closely matches the actual waist measurement. Compared to most global American brands, sizing is similar or slightly smaller, so you may take the same size or one size up. The 310 is a super wide straight with a high rise a very roomy top block and a wide leg opening, so it is meant to be worn with room throughout. The denim is unsanforized but has been one-washed, so no further shrinkage is expected; the waistband will stretch slightly with wear. We don’t recommend sizing down, as starting too tight may cause discomfort and alter the intended fit of the garment.
