The Samurai Jeans S510HXII marks the evolution of the brand’s beloved Vintage Series, refining the original S510HX with upgraded materials, period-correct construction, and a newly developed 15.8oz Samurai Cotton GL3 selvedge denim. Designed to capture the character of mid-century American jeans while showcasing Samurai’s relentless textile experimentation, this pair blends heritage authenticity with unmistakable Japanese craftsmanship.

At the heart of the jeans is Samurai’s new GL3 selvedge denim, woven slowly on the legendary Toyoda GL3 shuttle loom—one of the earliest Japanese power looms still capable of preserving the irregular, slubby nature of the yarns. The warp uses #6 Texas cotton yarns dyed a deep, vintage-style indigo reminiscent of 1950s denim, while the weft incorporates Samurai’s proprietary Samurai Cotton, adding nep, texture, and a raw, organic handfeel. The result is a fabric with pronounced vertical character, natural roughness, and beautifully uneven fading potential that only improves with wear.

Visually, the denim balances ruggedness and subtle detail. The kinari selvedge ID is accented with a faded pink center thread and a single strand of lamé for a discreet Samurai signature—an understated nod to the brand’s playful spirit within an otherwise classic fabric.

Construction stays true to Samurai’s vintage philosophy. Period-correct sewing specs, cotton thread stitching, and carefully controlled stitch density recreate the atmosphere of old American workwear.
