Sourced from the historic Kurashiki region of Okayama Prefecture, this celebrated fabric is renowned for its distinctive texture, exceptional durability, and rich heritage — originally used for boat sails and later refined into one of Japan's most prized everyday textiles.
The canvas is woven on century-old shuttle looms, which accentuate the natural nep texture of the cotton fibers and produce a fabric with subtle irregularity and depth that flat-woven canvas cannot match. The result is a textile that feels substantial, ages beautifully, and develops more character with every wear.
The silhouette features a roomy top block combined with a clean taper toward the ankle, creating a relaxed yet polished profile that transitions effortlessly from casual styling to more elevated looks.
