Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese brand, we find the sizing of Seuvas tees to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American tees, you'll find a suitable fit with this piece in size M. However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.

Made from 100% heavy cotton deadstock fabric, this crewneck tee features a slightly boxy fit and a single chest pocket for a timeless, functional design. Expertly constructed at the SEUVAS workshop in Okayama, Japan, it showcases meticulous flat seamer stitching construction.

What truly sets this piece apart is its hand-dyed hem, infused with rare Kyoto Mizuai indigo. Known for its elegant, blue hue, Kyoto Mizuai reflects the artisanal legacy of Kyoto. The dye is created through a centuries-old process involving only fermented indigo leaves and wood ash lye. This method not only enhances the visual depth of the dye but also imbues the fabric with natural antibacterial, deodorizing, and insect-repellent qualities.

The Mizuai tradition has endured through historical adversity—from the decline of domestic production during the Meiji era to wartime bans on indigo cultivation. Artisans preserved the tradition by smuggling seeds from Kyoto to Tokushima, allowing the practice to survive in secret. Today, Mizuai dyeing continues thanks to those who trained under Tokushima’s indigo masters and revived the lost Kyoto strain.
