The Studio D'Artisan 5740 Fox Cotton Work Shirt is part of the brand's celebration of one of the rarest and most meaningful textiles in the world: Fox Fibre cotton. Developed by agricultural pioneer Sally Fox — often called the "mother of organic cotton" — this exceptional cotton revives naturally colored varieties dating back over 5,000 years. Working on her California farm since the 1980s, Fox restored these heritage strains that grow in subtle earth-toned hues such as soft browns and greens — colors that come directly from the plant itself.

Because Fox Fibre requires no chemical dyes and no genetic modification, it places minimal burden on the environment while preserving the natural integrity of the fiber. Its unique structure contains fine air pockets within each strand, giving the fabric an uncommon combination of qualities: lightweight yet warm, quick-drying, breathable, and naturally UV-resistant. The result is a textile that feels luxurious and gentle on the skin, soft in hand, and durable across years of wear.

The fabric is an original 13oz jacquard check — substantial enough to feel jacket-like in weight, making this shirt equally well suited to standalone wear or light outerwear duty during transitional weather. The check pattern is woven directly into the structure of the cloth, not printed, giving it depth and character that ages beautifully.

Construction details remain true to classic workwear codes. The shirt features two chest pockets, side gussets with chainstitch runoff for both reinforcement and visual character, and natural tagua nut (corozo) buttons for an organic, refined finish. The fabric has been one-washed.

Fit Notes: This shirt fits true to size for SDA and most Japanese brands. Compared to most global American brands, a size 42 fits similarly to a standard American Large.
