The Studio D'Artisan SP-115 Jeans represent a thoughtful revival of their iconic "Earth Denim" series, this time created specifically for their 45th anniversary collection. These metal-free jeans showcase SDA's commitment to both traditional craftsmanship and environmental consciousness. Crafted from 15oz unsanforized one-wash selvedge denim, these jeans feature a natural indigo-dyed warp produced in Tokushima, Japan using the meticulous Kasezome skein dyeing method. The Foxfibre Colorganic cotton weft comes from brown cotton varietals revived by American entomologist Sally Fox in 1989, cultivated using completely organic methods without pesticides or chemicals.
The straight fit offers timeless styling, while the wood nut button fly and reinforced stitching replace conventional metal hardware. Each pair includes 45th anniversary print pocket bags and an original recycled leather waistband patch, further emphasizing the sustainable ethos behind this special edition jean. The combination of naturally dyed warp and organic brown cotton weft creates a truly unique fabric that will fade gradually over time, developing character distinct from conventional indigo denim. Fit Notes: SDA Jeans typically run slightly small, but this is not the case with the Earth Jeans. We find them to be true to size, so we recommend selecting your usual size. However, as always, we advise checking the size chart first to ensure the perfect fit. The fabric is unsanforized but the jeans have been pre-washed, so no shrinkage is expected.
