Fit Notes: As many other SDA Jeans, this Amami Dorozome jeans run slightly small in the one wash version. In general, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.

Each pair begins as 18oz unsanforized double indigo selvedge denim before embarking on a 1000+ kilometer journey to Amami Oshima island. There, skilled artisans apply the centuries-old Dorozome mud dyeing technique, transforming the fabric through a labor-intensive process. The result is a uniquely rich color that approaches black while retaining subtle hints of blue and brown – a depth impossible to achieve through conventional sulfur dyeing.

The regular straight fit provides timeless styling, complemented by SDA original buttons on the four-button fly, engraved copper rivets, and selvedge button fly construction. Each pair features a special "Amami Dorozome" leather patch commemorating this exceptional series. This collection honors the historical significance of Dorozome, which traditionally used natural dye derived from Sharinbai (Japanese Hawthorne wood chips) to color silk for kimono production.
